It appears that the vertical speed is too sensitive when the Spider X detects events. I am seeing events that are 0-5 seconds or less than 1 second. This isn't very helpful. I would like to be able to see this averaged to something more like 5-7 seconds/ocurrance. Turbulence seems to cause some of these false alerts.
Thanks for sharing this feedback. ROC and ROD exceedances are detected on the Spider from 1s GPS data; I believe these are filtered by a few samples. ROC and ROD in our Insights platform is based on 1s GPS data as well, but detected in cloud processing. At present the processing only looks at adjacent samples. This year we will be addeding the ability to specify a 'holdoff' or minimum duration parameter in Insights rules to avoid data spikes triggering unwanted events.
