Feature feedback and requests
The current notification for incoming spidertexts is easy to miss. There is one tone and then only an icon next to the message menu. If you don't hear the tone and don't look for the small icon next to the message button, you won't know that a pilot messaged you. Additional notification methods (SMS notification, email, a window that opens up with an alert on the maps page, continuous tone until acknowledged, etc.) would help users know that there is an unread message.
My comment comes from the perspective of the pilots. Just an idea if there might be a way to have a wireless remote annunciator to indicate that the crew has received a text message. If they are not looking at the mobile device that is connected to the Spider to see the notification, or with the noise of the aircraft they do not hear the notification, the installation of an annunciator light would be great. This is the feedback from the pilot group. Thanks
Thanks for sharing this feedback and the suggestions for possible improvements!
Our roadmap includes a lot of improvements to Spidertxt this year, starting with Messaging Groups which will be released early April alongside a complete refresh of the web Messaging page. I will explore options for including one or more of your suggestions above as part of our continued work in this space, and reach out to discuss proposed solutions before we implement these.
