As a safety manager, it is critical to have access to the complete historical flying activity and tracking data for all aircraft in our fleet. Currently, the system restricts users from viewing historical data for aircraft prior to the date and time at which visibility for those aircraft is activated. This limitation significantly hinders operational oversight, safety analysis, and data-driven decision-making, especially when historical data is required for audits, trend analysis, or integration with tools like Power BI.
To address this issue, I propose that SpiderTracks implement a feature allowing users with the requisite permissions (e.g., Admin or Safety Manager roles) to access the full historical data for all aircraft in the fleet, dating back to the start of the company’s SpiderTracks account. This would ensure that authorized personnel can perform their duties effectively without unnecessary restrictions.

Expand Data Visibility Scope:
Modify the current visibility settings to allow users with appropriate permissions to access the full historical flying activity and tracking data for all aircraft in the fleet, regardless of when visibility was activated for each aircraft.
Permission-Based Access Control:
Ensure that only users with specific roles (e.g., Admin, Safety Manager) or explicit permissions can access this historical data to maintain security and privacy.
Data Export Compatibility:
Ensure that the historical data remains exportable in formats compatible with external tools like Power BI for further analysis and reporting.
Benefits:
Enhances safety management by providing a complete dataset for trend analysis, incident investigation, and compliance reporting.
Improves operational efficiency by eliminating the need for manual workarounds or reliance on incomplete data.
Aligns with the expectations of enterprise users who require unrestricted access to their own historical data for effective fleet management.

Thank you for sharing this need and the supporting context. Our team have reviewed options in this space and, whilst there are some constraints we are limited by, we believe it would be possible for the Org 'Owner' role to optionally allow full historic access to select members with the 'Admin' role. This would likely be coupled to a requirement that these users were also approved to to see all aircraft in the fleet (i.e. no ability to give full history on a subset of aircraft only).
We are nearing release of a complete refresh of our User management admin pages by early April, and will revisit this topic once that work has been released to all customers.
